I've been involved in fantasy sports leagues for the past 3 or so years. This year, I was dismayed to discover that NFL.com made their draft room some weird flash thing. I was unable to navigate it alone as a blind player. I discovered this 10 minutes before my draft started and didn't see any links about an alternate format for screen readers. If I hadn't had sighted assistance at hand, I would have been forced into autopick for my team which on a live draft can be a huge disadvantage. If for some reason they do have it somehow accessible with the right settings, it was impossible to find in the 10 minutes I had and that alone in my opinion lacks equal access.
I think it's completely inexcusable for a big company such as NFL to ignore the fact that blind people may want to participate in fantasy live draft leagues.
If anyone else has encountered similar problems with NFL.com, I ask that you send them an email through their "contact us" link. I think this is something that NFL.com should look into and fix and hopefully will do if enough blind individuals complain.
I've had the same problem; last year was my first year in fantasy football, and I had to use the auto draft, which gave me 4 kickers on my team. Not very helpful. I'm on a family league, so this year my family was willing to do a phone conference during the draft so I was able to participate. I still had to have someone fill in my selections, but at least I was able to make my own picks.
I definitely encourage you to send an email complaining about the inaccessibility. I did, but I don't think it'll carry much weight unless they get flooded by the blind community :)
Glad you were able to find a way around it though.
